Unfortunately, Google Merchant add-on can not Simple Product to its Feed:
13. Your product has no attributes. Items must have at least one attribute (it may vary from category to category, please check Google product feed specification) Feed cannot be generated for simple products (i.e. products that do not have any variations).

Has anyone else seen the problem where the feed generation hangs at 0% when trying to generate the XML file? When I click on Generate XML, it first says "Process has been started successfully" but then it just hangs there...
When I finally "Cancel generation", I get this error message: "Can't find process with id: 651283." (Well, the number changes each time.)

I just purchased this plugin in a bundle over Black Friday sales and it is not able to generate from my 1 selected category of 7 products. I downloaded the feed myself to open and it is empty (See below)

Hello! No, it is up to you, which Products you want to upload to Google Merchant Center.
Simple Products should be added to Google feed now. Do you have any issues with it?
