Hey everyone,
I posted this under another thread, but now I decided to post it as a separate one, to see the different viewpoints you might have or to see if you have the same problem as I do.
So the copy of my post is below:
Does that mean that in order to update all products (say I have 400 products) in terms of current supplier's price and current quantity on stock - I have to do this long-lasting process all the time - in other words the mass update under "settings" > "updates"?
Could this be done for each product automatically say at the end of the day or when there is a change for a specific product, instead of me updating all of my products every night? For 400 products that's a long process... I mean still it's much better than to do all this on my own, but I have an ambition to have a bigger online store - say 600-700 products, and the way I see it that'd be difficult within the current circumstances. How are the big online dropshippers with thousands of products doing it??
Thanks for all of the input guys, that's how we all help each other to improve our stores!
So in addition I will add this:
So far the webstore that I'm building has about 250 products. I did initiate this mass update today, to test the system. It froze at 21% and it won't continue. So when I checked my CPU usage and Account executions of my webhosting through my cpanel, I have over-exceeded my 8000 daily account executions almost immediately. That's why I think it froze, as there must be some sort of automatic switch, that blocks me from using more of the shared resources on my shared hosting (which is from a very reliable and reputable hosting provider).
THE BIG QUESTION IS:
DO you have this same problem?? Do I really need to purchase a cloud hosting (about $90-$100 a month), to be able to run my updates regularly for a bigger webstore, and not have the problem of running out of stock and telling customers all the time that we "sold out" after they have placed the order already? That's the main reason I purchased this plug-in as it gives the opportunity to update stock automatically
I am looking forward to hear your insights on the subject.
Thanks in advance for any of the suggestions
