Hi Yaros, thanks for sharing this

I just installed SSL on my site and had to also update urls still pointing to http:// Now got green padlock on my site...yeahhh!!

But now I seemed to have lost access to AliDropship plugin. When I click on Activate, I get the message Wrong site. Plugin was working fine before the update so I assume related to site change from http to https? I've sent email to support.

Thanks

Right, when you setup SSL your domain is changed. We need to re-activate your license key. The support will contact you shortly.

Salut Yaros,

Great thanks for reactivating my account Yaros! I've now got the green padlock...woohoo!!

For anyone else moving to SSL some tips. I learned the hard way

1. Make sure your site url is updated from http to https (Settings->General)
2. Make sure you upload images to your server when importing products from AliExpress (AliDropship->Settings->Product images)
3. If green padlock does not show use a site like whynopadlock.com to check what http calls you are making
4. Use a plugin like "Better Search Replace" to replace hard coded http calls in your database (make sure you backup your database first and do a dry run)
5. You may need to reactivate your Alidropship plugin. Drop their support an email

All the best!

it depends on the hosting provider, i pay for example 4$/month 30gb and ssl incl
Yep I purchased mine separately for £12.99/year. You may also need dedicated ip address depending on hosting package. Check with your provider

I use Let's Encrypt for cPanel in my sites and it's free and working fine.
The hosting companies I work with had it installed or installed it at my request.
It provides me SSL for free. Maybe not as powerful as a paid SSL but enough for me. No problems at all.

It's ok to use the free SSL certificate provided by my hosting company or should i go for a paid one?

Does licence reactivation will affect the already imported products from my website? Do i have to backup everything from my store before buying the SSL certificate and get the new Alidropship licence key?

No, you will not lose any data.

Could anybody help me with this please.

On my hosting I can add an SSL certificate, but it's a remap to a secure server.
How do I set this all up so I get the green padlock ?

Thx in advance

Okay, so I've bought a SSL Cert and contacted my host.

Seems I'm on shared hosting and can't use the cert, and can only use a very expensive cert that they provide.

Any other options to get the HTTPS working ?

Question for Yaros : The hosting that you guys provide, am I able to use third party certs ? Or will I encouter the same problem ?
