Some questions to Ginke

Hey thanks for the answer, nice to see another swiss ;)

The problem is, I'm making a "swiss" online shop in german, and I only "ship" to switzerland. So people don't expect import taxes and I would like to pay them myself but increase the price. Because if it's obvious that they are importing from china they might aswell go to aliexpress themselves. Do you think I am better off starting an international webshop? I thought it might be easier to sell to swiss people with a swiss store, because it's easier to advertise on facebook and in my native language. What are your thoughts?
Hi Joe,
I think there is a solution with dhl, mark your vat number on the DHL waybill so they can charge the tax from you. I am not really sure for now. I will ask the DHL carriers, you can too, maybe there is different situations in Swiss from China.

Hi
Hello mister iGinki. I have 3 questions.

The biggest concern I have as a newbie in Aliexpressland are the delivery dates and how products are packaged and delivered to customers.

1. Delivery dates.

We opened a webshop specialised in reading glasses and we do not know for sure yet if my Dutch customers [ The Netherlands ] are willing to wait up to 30-40 days to finally receive their products. What are your experiences with long delivery dates and for what reason are you willing to wait for 30+ days for your purchased goods? B. Maybe you do not know this but i'll ask anyway....Do you think as an entrepreneur it's a wise decision to tell your customers upfront they order products in my shop the delivery time can take up to 30+ days or longer or should I use the phrase to my customers "we deliver - as fast as possible"?

2. Packaging.

Since we sell reading glasses and are vulnerable items that can break easily....what is your overall experience with aliexpress sellers in regard to packaging? Do they keep in mind that customer satisfaction starts with a nice package?

3. The "We are dropshipping! Please, do not include any invoices or promo materials like brochures, businesscards, etc into the package. We are not a one time customer and maybe want to do more business with you"

Do suppliers live by this rule or do they overrule this rule?

P.S. Do you know by any change who is the biggest seller of reading glasses on aliexpress ;-)

Thanks for your help and support. Kind regards, Paul > https://leesbril.nl
Hi Paul,
1. I don't think any customer is willing to wait more than a month for an item at normal price. Maybe patience with cheap items, but not regular priced items.
From my sight, customer rentention is a key to success. So keep honest to your customers. There is a better shipping solution to Netherlands.
2. Our experience is make the package lighter as we calculate the shipping fee by gram. Although we want the package to be lighter, but the safety is the 1st priority: Sponge wrapped, and the glass should be fixed in the package.
As to the unbox experience. Everyone want it to be better, but it add cost to the item, and will makes you lose at price competition. No orders and customer will not have the chance to experience the wonderful unbox journey.
If you require custom package, it will be available soon. But you have to prepay the package materials and extra process fee.
3. It's a common rule. But the problem is: the guy saw the message may not be the same guy who packed your package. It's more about order process. If the internal communication is not smooth, your message may be neglected.

Hi there,
I need more information to answer this question: who owns the brand? Aliexpress seller or it's a well known brand that aliexpress seller are not likely have the right to sell it?
Reomve the brand or not is up to you. It depends on your strategy. My personal advice is remove the brand.

Hi iGinke,

Thanks a lot for your reply and advice.
I'm not sure who own the brand. And I also not familiar with the brand. It not a famous or popular brand, i think. I believe that, the aliexpress seller not own the brand and maybe some of them own the brand.

Hi,
Check the brand name in description, it's the real brand name. Not a logo on the image. Sometimes it doesn't match.
You can do a little search on google. If the result all comes from aliexpress, then the seller own the brand.

As for the copyrights problem, guys, Stay the f*** away from big brands, nike, puma, adiddas, canel ?? got damn it , i can understand peoples doing fans merch since they are not belongs to "brands" but more likely "themed" items, also they are not a Multi billion $ companies anyways, however i would suggest you take ginke advice, whenever your site start getting bigger, stop, sell it or something .
Hi friend, we should call it odm(original designed manufacturer) the design is owned by the manufacturer in China. So they do have the license to produce and sell the items.
If the seller insists it's oem, it's very simple, ask the seller to send you the licenses they have, with their company name on it.

Lots of trustworthy seller have this written:
3. We only ship to confirmed order addresses. Your order address MUST MATCH your Shipping address.
I guess these sellers won't dropship. Do you know why? Can I achieve something by contacting them?

Hi, you could contact them to achieve something. But it's unnecessary to do so. As our aliexpress seller only have the access to shipping address. No billing address can be seen.
The sentence some sellers put there is because: they were had credit card chargeback fraud before. If 2 address are not same will lead the bank refuse to pay seller.

Hi Ginke!
Could you explain me about shipping prices on AliExpress and in China? How does it work? Why the shipping prices on AE are so low, or for free?
I wonder because I wanted to avoid AliExpress and ship products on my own, but when I checked the shipping prices, they are few times bigger than product costs. How come?

Hi Dominik,
Sorry for kept you waiting.
First, everyone should know shipping is never free, the free shipping is just because it's good for purchase rate.
And I got clients in your situation, they ask me to pack the packages into a big one and shipping with DHL once a week.
Then they ship the items from their location.
oversea shipping is always expensive, for epacket to Russia,
it's $1.2 process fee per package and $13.8/Kilo
if a t shirt is 100g, the shipping cost is 2.58 (1.2+13.8 * 0.1 kilo)
if you buy 10 pieces of the t shirt, the shipping cost is:$15 (1.2+13.8 *1 kilo)

Thank you for the reply! I know, nothing is for free. But the prices you gave are much cheaper anyway, than the prices I found.
I was thinking about using 1688.com to dropship, but cost of agent + shipping costs (especially shipping cost) is more than aliexpress prices.

Can people outside of China use 1688 to dropship? (Using Google Translate of course ... LOL) :)
Not likely, most sellers on 1688.com don't know English, I also don't know how you can finish the payment...
if luckily, a guy who can communicate with you in English, but they don't know how to ship the package.

Hi iGinke,

I am selling cloth on my webstore. I remove product brand by editing pictures and product descriptions after import it from aliexpress.com. My question is:

1. On your opinion, is it better to remove product brand or remain it?

2. Is the product with removed brand, will be called as counterfeit products?

Sorry, my english is not good.

Thanks.
hi, i m a aliexpress seller too, you can contact the seller, and tell him. you want to dropshipping his product, usually he can permit you use the mark, than you can use or not.
