First of all, thank you very much Ginke, that you accepted my invitation to join our community! It's really exciting to get to know about how everything works from AliExpress side. I have already got some questions for you:)

1. Is it true that most sellers from Aliexpress are sourcing from 1688.com?

2. Some dropshippers are concerned about the labels with a price on packages. I have never had any complaints from my clients but still, is it possible to ask a supplier to change the value?

3. I heard Aliexpress is going to launch a domestic return. It means that you can return the package to Aliexpress warehouse of your country instead of returning it back to China. Can you confirm this information?

Thank you!

Hi Yaros,
Thank you for invitation.
Q: Is it true that most sellers from Aliexpress are sourcing from 1688.com?
A: Yes, most sellers are sourcing from 1688.com, it's kinda like another dropshipping in China too, we will not keep stock until our listing have steady sale. That's how I started business 4 years ago.

Q: 2. Some dropshippers are concerned about the labels with a price on packages. I have never had any complaints from my clients but still, is it possible to ask a supplier to change the value?
A: Price on label is rare these days, the most situation is the price shown on a invoice, or the shipping label with custom declare value,
If you mention to change the value in the order, sellers with order manage tool(ERP, something like Saleforce, Stitchlab) can easily change the value.
But for small sellers, they handle orders manually, they probably forgot, neglect your message.

Q;3. I heard Aliexpress is going to launch a domestic return. It means that you can return the package to Aliexpress warehouse of your country instead of returning it back to China. Can you confirm this information?
A; Yes, actually this announcement was released back to 2015, for now, domestic return is available in 3 countries: US, Russia, Spain. If you are in these country, you can select domestic return check box in search tool bar. But for now Aliexpress seems slow down their pace to expand this service to other country.

These are great questions, I hope my answer can address some questions, Aliexpress sellers are not all tricky and like to play games with you.
I want to show you the honest part, how we handle your orders, the reasons behind our order processing.

Grow together with your guys.

Hi Ginke, I have some questions for you :)

  1. Whats is your experience in terms of ads for your store? What has given you more success?
  2. How do you handle the SEO of your stores?
  3. How do you handle the payments? Do you think an store that only accepts paypal can generate some sells?

Hello mister iGinki. I have 3 questions.

The biggest concern I have as a newbie in Aliexpressland are the delivery dates and how products are packaged and delivered to customers.

1. Delivery dates.

We opened a webshop specialised in reading glasses and we do not know for sure yet if my Dutch customers [ The Netherlands ] are willing to wait up to 30-40 days to finally receive their products. What are your experiences with long delivery dates and for what reason are you willing to wait for 30+ days for your purchased goods? B. Maybe you do not know this but i'll ask anyway....Do you think as an entrepreneur it's a wise decision to tell your customers upfront they order products in my shop the delivery time can take up to 30+ days or longer or should I use the phrase to my customers "we deliver - as fast as possible"?

2. Packaging.

Since we sell reading glasses and are vulnerable items that can break easily....what is your overall experience with aliexpress sellers in regard to packaging? Do they keep in mind that customer satisfaction starts with a nice package?

3. The "We are dropshipping! Please, do not include any invoices or promo materials like brochures, businesscards, etc into the package. We are not a one time customer and maybe want to do more business with you"

Do suppliers live by this rule or do they overrule this rule?

P.S. Do you know by any change who is the biggest seller of reading glasses on aliexpress ;-)

Thanks for your help and support. Kind regards, Paul > https://leesbril.nl

Hi friend, I am a aliexpress seller, so the questions you asked is not my professional.
But I still want to drop some lines to you as our team try to start our own site back to 2015.
1. We failed at put ads on google and facebook. But now there are lot thread teach you how to put ads. I think it's a chance to be profit on it.
2. Back then, we were using mass social media bots for the traffic, but our stragey not right, and got rubbish accounts at last, many followers but few engagements. Seo still the best way for long term success.
3. You can use stripe or 2checkout. Even when your country is not allowed for stripe. You can search "Israel hack stripe" in google for the method.
Some fails experience for you.
That's why we focus on dropshipping business.

Sorry for the grammar, I am typing with my phone.

Yes, you have to worry it.
If you search similar items, you can always find people selling these items.
If it's a small business, then you may profit with it. Once you are bigger, PayPal or icefrog will find you and frozen your PayPal account.
My suggestion is: you can start with it, but stop when your business is on right track.

Yup!
They took the guys car, his home, a motorcycle, his dog, some cash he had in the bank,
his first born son, his grandfather's false teeth with gold and because all that could not cover
the $ 2.000.000.00 dollars in damages, they probably sent him to jail too!
(Unfortunately they let him keep his mother in law!)
All kidding aside (because this is a serious matter)...

The moral of this story is - DON'T DO THE CRIME IF YOU CAN'T DO THE TIME!

So stay away from any pirated and counterfeit products because people DO get caught every single day.
It's only a matter of time my friend.
Do not allow your freedom and independence to be compared to any amount of money.
Your life is priceless unless of course you don't value it.

Oh and...
Welcome Ginke and thank you so much for your invaluable information so far. I believe that your presence is an asset to our forum simply because you are ready to freely share your experiences with us and help us along the way.

By the way, here is an interesting 2016 article about fake products sold on Amazon...

While on topic of copyright infringement, as much as i want to touch on it, it's going to be a hard topic. Yaros' own store, all of it from his case studies, are all trademark/copyright stuff. Without him and his case studies, you will not see (i dare say) 90% of people signing up, including me. Most of other case studies from plugin store owners also sell those stuff.

But lets get on topic regarding Aliexpress.

1:

Does Aliexpress shut down stores, give warning only, or doesn't care about copyright stuffs? I sometimes get items that suddenly became not available, sometimes the store itself is gone, sometimes the store is there, but inside there's nothing at all. And, they were one of the best sellers in the particular niche.

It doesn't make sense to me, why their best selling item is taken down from the store.

2:

How does aliexpress give out gold medal to store owners? I don't understand how does some stores, having just joined 1 month, have the gold medal.

3:

How much should i trust gold medal compared to diamond rating?

4:

Is 95% and below not trusted?

5:

Why does some stores, having existed for more years compared to some other newer ones, have less diamond? Should i trust them for their longevity, or should i trust the one with more diamond but fairly new.

6:

In terms of score rating, which ones are more trusted. Percentage, diamond, gold medal, feedback numbers or how long the store has been around?

(i'm seeing an increasing number of new stores, targeting a specific niche, and having more orders than their feedback score, which is an indication of more dropshippers choosing them)

Good morning @alioop

If I understand it correctly your first question was:
If AliExpress (Alibaba Group) care about Intellectual Property?
In regards to your question I have seen the following online articles that may give you some answers.

MAR 2017
Alibaba Wants Authorities To Fight Counterfeits

FEB 2017
Alibaba Calls for Stricter Laws to Help Curb Widespread Counterfeiting

JAN 2017

JAN 2017
Alibaba sues sellers of counterfeit goods
http://www.cnbc.com/2017/01/04/alib...-time-after-it-was-blacklisted-by-the-us.html

DEC 2014
Alibaba spent $161 million fighting fakes since 2013

I'm sure if you search dependable sources online you will find many articles that might have some truth to them.
In my eyes it's all about money and politics. If they can get away with it they'll do it.
It's human nature after all.

But let's wait and see what @iGinke has to say because he has first hand experience.

Hey nice to meet you, I just started droppshipping with woocommerce shops.

Quick question: I dropship to switzerland. There are taxes on imports from China for goods over $62, that's why I started with cheap items.
What If I dropship an item for example for $800 via DHL. For the import taxes, does DHL come to me (billing adress) or do they go to my customer (delivery adress). This is very important as my customers should not get additional costs. Billing adress is in switzerland aswell. Hope you understand, thanks!

I live in Switzerland and buy a lot online. Yes there is always an import tax on goods into Switzerland. About 8% on goods. However, the customer, like myself usually knows there are import duty taxes down to his decision to buy (using any shipping carrier)so I'd not worry... in fact buying from abroad can be cheaper like from U.K., I don't pay the 20% VAT, but I always get a bill 10 days later from DHL for Swiss import tax. From a seller point of view all you need to do is state clearly in TOS (terms of service) reminding Customers (not just Swiss) that there may be import duty taxes applied on goods into their country and (rightly) you are NOT responsible for. That's all you do.

Hi iGinke,

I am selling cloth on my webstore. I remove product brand by editing pictures and product descriptions after import it from aliexpress.com. My question is:

1. On your opinion, is it better to remove product brand or remain it?

2. Is the product with removed brand, will be called as counterfeit products?

Sorry, my english is not good.

Thanks.

Hey thanks for the answer, nice to see another swiss ;)

The problem is, I'm making a "swiss" online shop in german, and I only "ship" to switzerland. So people don't expect import taxes and I would like to pay them myself but increase the price. Because if it's obvious that they are importing from china they might aswell go to aliexpress themselves. Do you think I am better off starting an international webshop? I thought it might be easier to sell to swiss people with a swiss store, because it's easier to advertise on facebook and in my native language. What are your thoughts?

Hi there, @SuperAgora 's answer is great.
1. Aliexpress is getting more strict with copyright. I got 2 store suspended in 6 months.
2. Golden medals, also called top rated seller, is depended on the rating you receive in 90 days. If the store is newly launched, got 10 ratings only, if the rating is good, then this shop will get the golden medal. No 1 month store will get it, at least 3 months.
3. Compare the DSR rating: description, shipping speed and services.
4. Better not touch the store under 95%
5. Same solution as the 3rd answer. DSR rules.
6. Same as the above answer.
I think now you have your idea.

Hi there,
I need more information to answer this question: who owns the brand? Aliexpress seller or it's a well known brand that aliexpress seller are not likely have the right to sell it?
Reomve the brand or not is up to you. It depends on your strategy. My personal advice is remove the brand.
