I was also having this issue with other provider but when I moved my WordPress websites to Cloudways managed WordPress hosting platform, their support team fixed the issue in minutes and everything went fine.

Does anyone else have problems with the Auto Update feature set to Auto Daily using a lot of host resources? ?

This is not a host problem this is a plugin problem. This plugin has a poorly written update process that will cause HIGH CPU and bring your server to its knees. I have been asking them to fix this for months.

I even went so far to host this on private VM with 8GB Ram and 4 CPU and it took that down as well. It maxes out the CPU to 300% on my SQL and the server with less then 4 CPU pins the server at 100%. Any hosting provider, once they see the issue, will ban this plugin.
