About this so called security issue did A2hosting gave a clear explanation?
What was the « outdated plugin? »
See the content of their ticket informing me of the suspension and the reason:
The web service of Swift Web Hosting account with username alexaexp on mi3-ss16.a2hosting.com has been suspended.
As a part of A2 Hosting Perpetual Security, we've discovered a security issue in the account. These security issues can commonly be caused by the following:
- Outdated software (WordPress, Joomla!, Drupal, and any plugins/themes associated)
- Compromise of any local computer (virus) that has access to the administrative portion of your account (cPanel, FTP, SSH)
- Accessing your account from an insecure network
- Password does not meet commonly used criteria to keep an account secure
The evidence of the security issue:
No evidence is available at this time. Please contact support
The best way to address this issue is to delete all content and restore a backup known to be clean and working. Please ensure all site software including plugins, modules and themes are completely up-to-date. Update all passwords associated with the account (cPanel, Email, FTP, etc). Please manually review all content under your account to ensure there is no malicious content within them. Even one left-over malicious file can cause the account to be compromised again.

I am sorry to see that you wish to leave us.
Would you elaborate more on the reasons that made you cancel the service?
Is it related to an unsatisfactory performance of the services offered? Or maybe the price was not right? Is the level of customer service below par?

So you can see how ridiculous is the reason for the suspension. They said they have no evidence. Also they never informed me of the suspension until I get in touch with their Live chat support. I was wondering why the website was down and keep on finding ways open it, not knowing that it was already suspended. Very irresponsible act.
