I can't get my plugin to update when using the updater in wordpress. It says it updates but when I do a refresh it shows that it needs to update still. I have version 1.42 and it says the newest version is 1.64. I am running php 5.6 and cannot upgrade to php 7 just yet. Could this be the problem? If so, what is the latest version that will run on php 5.6?

PHP5.6 is not supported anymore. You need to transition your site to at least PHP7.1 to update the plugin.

Okay I guess I was hoping there was an archive of older versions that may be still compatible with php 5.6 unless my version is the last update for php 5.6. Unfortunately I cannot upgrade my server to php 7 until the new year at which time I'll try to upgrade the plugin. Thanks for the reply.

Okay I finally was able to upgrade my server to php 7.2 and deleted the old aliwoo plugin using sftp and manually updated the newest version but now I get the wrong website for license error. What did I do wrong?

If you installed the new version of the plugin to the same site, there should be no problem with the license. Send email to support@alidropship.com.

Yes I did install to the same site. In fact the right license showed up in the box that is in my email when I purchased the plugin. I even tried deleting the license key and pasting in the one from the email and that didn't work either. Email sent.

I have this issue in the past. It was due to the settings below. The URLs were not the same. Check while waiting for the response from support.

Okay now we're making progress as I recently changed my url from https:// to https://www about three months ago. I wonder if that is the issue.

I don't want to change it back so hopefully someone from support will provide a solution.

Also I haven't heard a word from support yet.

I already mentioned that ...
Oh yeah. I remember that from long ago too now. People getting SSL later rather than sooner or something and the addresses being http and https.
Your original URL has changed so of course, the license key won't work. It needs to be reset by support and then you can activate it again. (On any ONE site)

This is an old problem with a few threads on it already. (i.e changing from http to https and/or changing the domain name)

;)

Well up until now I didn't realize changing the url would be a problem. I guess I'll have to wait for support. For the record, I had to make the change for google as they were penalizing me for the lack of www. for some reason. As soon as I made the changes all was good with them. And they're the boss! ;)

If you want quick action from support ... Put "Please reset license key" as the subject. And include the license key, old URL and your name in the email. I always get a reply the next day telling me it has been done.

The license key is locked into the specific site address it's activated on so it can't be used on another site. If you change that address in any way, the key will not work. That's the whole purpose of it.

lack of www.
??? That's automatically added by browsers. I think you mean SSL (https). Right?

Okay thanks I'll resend my email to support.

As for google, I know right?

I assumed the same thing but something was amiss as they kept warning me in my webmasters dashboard to change it so I did and voila everything was good again. For some reason the redirection wasn't occurring I guess.

I also tried to reach out for an explanation but getting support from google is like pulling a tooth, very painful.
