Import reviews written only in English

I would like to suggest to import reviews with a language filter. I need my reviews to be in English but I don't want to translate reviews because the translation not always works as expected.

Note: I'm using Woo plugin.

Second this :) Also made the suggestion. Would make it muuuch easier. Or even just filter on certain countries would solve it for me.

Yes, you are right that translation not always works as expected so best option is write in that own language. To make your review a perfect one you need to consider several guidelines. Are you a beginner in review writing just refer Admission essay writing services for more help.

In this case your products will have less reviews , just check it out how many reviews each product has in the original English language. The quantity is too small. The more reviews your product has the higher possibility for it to be sold.

Well, you can hire a professional copywriter or translator for this stuff. You can't trust a machine to do this. But you can trust a human. For example, you can use a cheap essay writing service like essaystudio.org or something like that. It's not their direct occupation, but I think you can just ask them. They have good service. I know it, because I ordered a few essays from them - they do it great. Maybe they have a professional translator too?

Seriously? Who is going to pay for that? Just do what I do and delete the text of the entire review with the ones that have crap, unintelligable translations and replace it with something quick and easy like "Great! love it :)"

It's not like every review is "complete" crap. Many with bad English are still perfectly readable and understandable. Just leave those. It actually looks more real. The entire internet is full of garbled terrible English. No one will really think anything of it.

Just look at Facebook posts or even this forum to see plenty of semi illiterate, badly spelt English with terrible grammar. Besides, you have to give all the keyboard warrior grammar nazis something to bitch about. lol

If I saw a site where every review had 100% perfect English, I would be suspicious. People are aware of fake reviews these days. Don't make them suspicious. Keep it natural. Keep it real. And to do that, you need a bit of imperfection.

Import all to draft and then go through them one by one.

Approve all that are good to go.

Select some with spelling mistakes, like @Direct Webstore suggests.

Then delete the garbage.
Yep. Simple as that. No dramas.
And if there are not very many reviews, just re-write a few of the totally crap ones with something quick, simple and positive.

:)

You shouldn't save money on reviews. As it's pretty much your face and your reputation. People aren't stupid and they'll see immediately a badly written one and you lose all the credibility. Hire only professional writers. Here's a good place, for instance https://domyessayright.com/

Why do you think your store's reputation is based on how grammatically correct reviews are? The "store" did not write them. Customers did.

You're basically saying that when a customer reads a badly worded or spelled review, that they think ... "Wow! This review, (which was written by a customer) has so many spelling and grammar mistakes, that this store must be very low class and have a very low reputation". If that was the case, Amazon would be out of business. Logic score 0/10

People aren't stupid
That's the opposite of the popular opinion that 80% of the world's population ARE stupid and/or lazy minded. The evidence is served up daily, everywhere. And smart people take advantage of that ... especially marketeers. ;) This has been well known since the phrase "There's a sucker born every minute" was invented decades ago.

they'll see immediately a badly written one
That would be the remaining 20% who keep the world turning. Just joking. ;)

Hire only professional writers.
You'd have to belong to the 80% group to hire "professional writers" to write something as simple as reviews. Hire them to write blogs instead. THAT would add much more value to your store.

If the reviews are TOO well written, with 100% correct spelling and grammar, THEN some people would be suspicious. It's just not natural. "Normal" and "Real" reviews are usually FULL of mistakes and lazy writing. You see it every day. "Fake" reviews are often the very well written ones with no mistakes. Using professional writers has the very real potential of having the opposite effect you are seeking. The whole site would scream "FAKE!"

Like I said already ...

If this U.S based site is really popular with students, it may partly explain the high ignorance and illiteracy levels of the average American. Many of whom, write badly written reviews full of grammar and spelling mistakes. lol ;)

I appreciate your answering. But I didn't meant the grammar or spelling here at all. I meant stylistic qualities of texts.
I guess the only type of people which can't tell the difference between genuinely written review and fake one are store owners. That has something to do with psychology probably. But often it's extremely obvious that a review is fake with a single glance.
And it takes talent, natural stylistic sense or experience to write a simple review

That as well. It was more or less presumed if using a "professional writer". Too good = fake. I want some reviews to be less than perfect. I even have a scattering of negative ones, just to add to the "realness". But that's just my opinion. Don't worry about it conflicting with yours ... the more viewpoints the merrier.

But often it's extremely obvious that a review is fake with a single glance.
Especially to someone involved in website development who is not being objective. ;)

But this is an old thread, I've to put my 2 cents worth in already, so I stand aside for another viewpoint ... :)

Indeed reviews are very important for an online business. Having too many reviews or only positive reviews looks very suspicious. The more you want to trick the system, the more unnatural your page looks. I believe that it’s better to leave the reviews page for your customers independently from what language they speak. Even if their English is not good enough and they misspell your you’re worksheets and don’t even recognize their mistakes. Leave it the way it is; customers will pay attention to your reaction and responses to your customers. This is what matters the most.

Hello, my "problem" is similar. I'm very happy that it is possible to import reviews from Ali to Woo, especially for the photos. But my website is in GERMAN.

So, it won't help me if I could import only German reviews, because there are way too few.

Automatic translation is ----

Also, I do not want to translate or rewrite the reviews on my own. That is not fair agains the reviewer, go along and change their texts, no?

** What I would like: **

An option to just import the customer-photos and the stars - but no text at all.

Because I think the photos are really, really helpful, because they show how the product truly looks. The stars also are universal and I want them all, the good and the bad ones.

(Doesn't help to have only great reviews, but unhappy customers, because they expected something different.)

Thank you!

(If "no text at all" is not possible with Wordpress, there could maybe be inserted a free to choose standard text? Then I just would write "photo review without text" or something like that).

Hi there. You are right. As I know, translation not always works as expected. So the best option for you is to write in that own language. Then everything will look natural and there will be no clumsy translation. I would advise you to use the services of a Writing Metier specialist who can write unique texts.

Sometimes this creates a problem, but I would not jump to conclusions. Most online platforms are based in English. So I think it's worth improving your skills in this business and understanding at a glance. That's what I did when I needed a higher level of English so I had to Edit My Paper promo code. It made my efforts a few hundred times easier. If you're still having trouble with that, I suggest you use this tool.

Alas, many people use different applications for proper writing, and it is already more difficult to determine whether it is false or not.
