Is this tool really effective and does its suggestions really matter?

It is very effective but you have to understand every suggestion they make before fixing/implementing them.

For example, it tells me that a certain file in my admin folder is blocked and i should fix it. But there is no reason at all for any bot to crawl my admin folder so i will not implement that.

Having everything as green, check marked, thumbs up and all happy happy is not always the best route.
