Ali Woo which PHP to use?

Hello, just getting started and spent two days trying to get all the parts working right. Hopefully on the home stretch. Which version of php should I use. I thought the 5.6 was being phased out and 7.+ was the new version. However I get this error

"Fatal error: The file /home/leadex/public_html/wp-content/plugins/alidswoo/core/core.php was encoded by the ionCube Encoder for PHP 5.6 and cannot run under PHP 7.1 or later. Please ask the provider of the script to provide a version encoded with the ionCube Encoder for PHP 7.1. in Unknown on line 0

Do I have the wrong plugin or have I misread the instructions?

Wrong plugin I guess.

You have two versions. One for 5.6 or 7.1 recheck steps and install the correct one.

Look at the zip file you downloaded. e.g "alidswoo_ion71.zip" is PHP 7.1
But apart from that...if it's working ... it's the right one.
