I tried the image editor in wordpress. When I edited the image and erased the logo, the image was good. When I published the post, the featured image still had the logo. Am I doing something wrong?

I think so. I don't know about any copyright issues. I created a stripe accound and had to provide all counts of documents and numbers: My ID card, Social security number, telephone check, sole proprietorship number, tax number, etc. I live in France by the way. :)
