Suggestion for improving the theme

Infinite scroll is nice and should and easily can be made faster.
When scrolling the next 'page' there is a delay as the images are loaded. On a mobile connection that's a good approach (save data), but on a desktop it would be great if the theme preloads the next 1 or 2 pages. That will give a much smoother scrolling experience

Which theme? Many themes (like Flatsome) have infinite scrolling already that can be enabled. And if not, there are plugins to handle it. But it's not really that popular anymore. (Except for people still clinging to the 90s ... lol)

I'd rather have fast page loading on both mobile and desktop.

Basically, if you're concerned about page loading times, and "smooth experiences" forget about infinite scrolling. It just makes things worse. Waiting, waiting, waiting for that little spinning icon to stop and more content to load. No thanks. I'm sticking to pagination. I don't wish to debate it, just stating my opinion. Please don't try to "convince me" lol

This post was moved from Andy Warhol Woo. So that's the theme.

About debating and fast loading.
No use debating something with you if you don't even grasp what I suggested.

Visitors will take note of the page number where a product caught his interest and come back later. In infinite scroll, he cannot do it since there is no page number. Infinite scroll is counter productive.

That's indeed a point to consider, but the request made in my OP is just as
useful in infinite scroll as in paged scrolling.

Infinite scroll is like paged scrolling without page numbers***
When scrolling it loads the next group of items which can be seen as the
next page. But let's not get tangled up in the definition of a page because
that's of little importance.

My request was about speeding up page loading. When a certain group of
items is fully loaded on the current (infinite) page, the next batch of
items should be fetched in the background. Precaching or prefetching
items for instant loading of the next page.
When the shopper skips 10 pages, then it won't work.
This system works great on unmetered connections, especially slower ones.
Obviously it also works on metered mobile data, but it may download pages
that will never been seen.

***= The two methods can easily be combined by using page numbers that can
be used the normal way but also 'infinite scrolled' to the next page.

Thank you for explaining what Infinite scroll is.

My request was about speeding up page loading.
Which ironically, would have the opposite effect.

be used the normal way but also 'infinite scrolled' to the next page.
Easily? I don't see how. Pass me that bong you're smoking. lol

But if you want infinite scrolling so bad .. and you are using Woo
there are plugins to handle it.
There are also plenty of Woo compatiple themes that have it too ..

I don't see the point of this thread. Just go ahead and implement it on your site and stop trying to convince us of the merits you perceive it to have.

Simple.

There is no such thing and you call it easy, really?
