Product not moving to Shopping Cart

I just got my Paypal API set up and am testing the store to make sure things work.
When (as a shopper) I select an item and press "add to shopping cart" button, on checking the shopping cart there is nothing in it.
Is there something I need to activate to make this work?

And, while I am thinking of it, is there a way to have the store be inactive if I am working on it or fixing a bug?

Hello, have a look at our Knowledge Base https://alidropship.com/codex/

make sure you installed AliDropship plugin and use one of our built-in themes (DaVinci, Michelangelo, Rembrandt)
or AliDropship Woo plugin with WooCommerce and WooCommerce theme.

If you have some cache plugins installed please deactivate them and check again.

I think perhaps the SSL (https:) had something to do with it. Possibly the site was still recycling the https: functionality once I enabled it, or maybe when I had the host admins fix the "certificate out of date" error. Not sure why SSL would be impeding a site internal transfer of information, but as of today (next day) the problem has cleared itself up.
