PayPal API

How do I set this up in 2017 with a personal account?! I contacted PayPal and they said I needed to open a business account to do this. I'm not really looking to register a business. I am in Australia.

Thanks for speedy reply. But this doesn't work for me. Apparently one needs a Premier or Business account now to have an API. I did find this information about applying for a Premier account: http://www.techo24h.info/tips-tricks/how-to-sign-up-premier-paypal-account

Does anyone know if I fill out the form using my current PayPal information if it will upgrade my account to a Premier account? I'm just looking to operate like this until I have the funds to set up a Business account once my store is established.

I think it is better to clarify with PayPal support regarding this issue.
