Number of variations which are idle to avoid CPU issues?

How many variations are good enough to avoid cpu usage issue? I have seen many replies on the forum stating that too many variations of a product can also contribute to cpu usage. I have many products with up to 8 variations. I am not adding any product above 8 variations. What is the max number of variations for you? And if possible, kindly share the number of products on your site.

TIA :)

Try to keep products to 500 or less if you have variation heavy products and you shouldn't have problems. But your hosting is another factor as well.

I have 8 stores with approx 300 products each..maybe half of them with a few variations. I have had no problems so far...but my sites are slowly growing with more products so I anticipate problems in the future.

That's why I am biting the bullet and going back to the Original plugin.

Thank you "WELL KNOWN ACTIVE MEMBER" :D
I was worried about adding products with 8-10 variations. Almost 25% of my products are with 8-10 variations and rest of them are below that. My hosting is with Siteground and till now my CPU usage stays under control until I use manual update. As you are running 8 stores, I am very sure that these variations are not going to hurt before 500 products.

I wish I could use original plugin, but the themes are not suitable for my store and I am not good in coding at all. Nor I have a budget to hire a freelancer. So, I have to start with woocommerce only. I am hoping for the best and I will also shift once I start getting enough sales.

Thanks once again :)

I've spent the past 3 days making a Davinci Child theme and changing it quite a bit. It's enabled me to add extra functionality to it. It's almost as good as a Woo setup ... so now the real work begins. Changing 8 sites back to the Original. I still have the old original sites backed up ... so it won't be completley from scratch.

Sounds great. It makes me think about the original plugin as I have just deleted all the products and extended launch date of my store. I am just not sure how much I can manipulate the themes as they look very basic. I may give them a try on a subdomain, but as a novice coder, I may end up frustrated
Moreover, I have already purchased a woocommerce theme :(
