New image features broken on my site

I've seen this issue before. Try deactivating Woocommerce, then activating it again.
It's happened again today. They have added a feature whereby images are hotlinked from ali. If you disable the ali plugin for any reason then the images won't show. Not only is this vendor lockin it has broken my site through 404's etc.
Cowboy coding sorry guys but this is really not thinking this through.
Really frustrating as I am operating on a very low budget. Lost weekend sales as my site is un-useable until I understand how to fix the images issue.

My media manager is full of dead empty image slots when the plugin is deactivated.
