Michelangelo theme modification

Hi,

I would like to add an image in the header of the theme, between the search box and the currency flag (see attachment) but I don't know how to do.

I know that the header.php file has to be modified but I don't know how the <div> tags works. Could please someone help me?

But whenever updates come in it will overide it, so maybe something along the line of a child theme would work better. A bit complicated.
