Hi Yaris and all,

What do you do if the customer cancels their order after the product has already been shipped? Do you take a loss, allow the customer to keep the product and refund their money?

Thanks.

Customer will simply request a chargeback on the credit card.

What was the reason for a refund, is the customer trying to game the system by doing this? If the customer does a charge back, he/she will not only get their money back, you will be charged a $15-$25 USD fee because of it unless the payment gateways you have do not charge this type of fee.

Yes and if you get charged this fee many times due to delayed shipments from china then you are out of pocket.

Is this a common occurrence with dropshipping from china? Customer will end up getting the product from somewhere else quicker and cancel the order.

How long was it when you placed the order and it being shipped when the customer contacted you to cancel it? I want to know the timeframe of this. If its in your policy that you can't cancel the transaction after it being shipped and they do a chargeback, i think the bank would side with you because its within your policy. This is not your fault if you personally outlined in your policy about this and let the customer know personally after the order took place that it would take x amount of days for the customer to receive the package.
