Country and State/Province fields do not display selected values

Unless I hover over them, the Country and the State/Province fields of the Contact Information form stay empty, even with selected values in them.
A buyer might find it, in delicate wording, not very helpful.

Am I alone to experience this? If not, I would greatly appreciate any feedback.

The Davinci theme partially fixes this. Still pretty much ugly, but at least the selected values are displayed.
