Changing attribute name

Some of the prefilled attributes used for variation are wrong (says color but should say type). Is there a way to change this?

With the Woo Plugin, can you change the name of the attributes/variations and still have the product update properly? I tried changing a couple and it doesn't seem to work. The attributes imported from AliExpress use some incorrect language.
