I just set the recomended option. I tend to manually override them anyway and have stopped the auto update. You should look at the competition in your niche who offer similar products / quality and price accordingly. You are never just gonna use a formula all the time because there are so many other factors; the wholesale price on AliExpress is just one factor.

me,
1: I add 10$ to those which are 5$ or less then 5$.
2: I multiply by 2 when the price range is between 5$ to 100$
3: I multiply by 1.6 all the products above 100$

I think knowing someone's formula without the context of knowing their niche doesn't really provide much info. Unless you're just looking to get an idea of how people are setting up their formulas.
