There is a little bug :

I have "Variations images" option checked to be uploaded to server.
But when I reset variations in supplier tab, in product edit page, new variations images are linked to aliexpress, not stored in server.

I notice that too, I decide do remove the variation from save to server anyway because is increasing my inodes by a lot.
If you have one site is ok but if you have multiple like me in a share hosting i suggest you uncheck this option as well.
