Been running my store on AliDropship for about 8 months now. Before that I tried Shopify for like 6 weeks and bailed because I felt like I was paying for a blank template and had to figure out everything else myself (apps, ads, sourcing products, all of it separately).
AliDropship's cheaper for me ($39/mo vs what I was paying on Shopify once I added the apps I needed) and the store came preloaded with products already, which mattered a lot since I have zero design skills. The one-click ads thing is honestly the reason I stuck with it – got my first sale within like 2 days of setup, which I never got close to on Shopify.
Not saying it's perfect – the product selection is more limited than I expected going in (it's all digital products/AI toolkit stuff, no physical inventory, which took some adjusting since I originally pictured a normal dropshipping store). But for someone who just wants something that works out of the box, this was the right call for me over Shopify.
Anyone else made the switch either direction? Curious if I'm missing something Shopify does better that I just haven't run into yet.
