You have to move your installation to the root. There are plugins that will help you do so.

That’s what my problem was. No indication that the options are mutually exclusive.

I am having a similar issue. It seems to be associated with simple products vice variable products. The price in edit displays differently than the price in quick edit. $1.00 difference for me from the product page to the cart page for the product that I noticed it with.
