Updating a New Theme

Is there anyway to work on editing a new theme without publishing it. I have a theme that's fine "Rubens", but want to migrate to the "Davinci 2" theme. However, I don't want to publish until I'm ready to go live. Does anyone know how to do this?

Put the site in maintenance mode. Only you logged in as administrator can see the site..

Thanks Mar, so there is still only one site, but what's there now freezes and maintenance mode allows me to work on it?
Also, when I take it out of maintenance mode, does it automatically publish?

Yes, once you disable or deactivate maintenance mode, the site is published. purge cache if it don't.
