Question about variation products

Hi Yaros or anyone that can answer,

1. So when a variation product is imported for example for a watch that comes in Gold and Silver, I see the seller has them listed as 1000 and 1001 instead of the colors. I don't like this so if i change the variation/attribute to Gold and Silver, will that cause any issue with sync and especially with auto order fulfillment ?
2. Can variations be split up and if so what's the best way and how would that work with auto order fulfillment?
