Problem with updating to alidropship plugin ion 7.1

I had my php updated to 7.1 then installed ion 7.1 but it didnt work... Now i installed the usual plugin and that worked.. How is it so?

Hello, please make sure you did everything right : check once again PHP version and version of plugin you downloaded.

yes and still having a problem right now....i re-installed it and it doesnt let me activate it. when i click activate on the plugin, nothing happens. i had my php updated to 7.1 by hostgator and i can see that on my cpanel.
