Need help with category for product

When you click on a product link, you'll see Home -> Category A -> Category A1 and so on. My question is, I want to tag the product so that customers can view products by their features like colors or materials, etc. I tried tagging the product to 2 different categories but it only shows up in the secondary category not the main category. For example, I created category for apparel, and a category for floral print. I tagged the product to these 2 categories but when I click on the product link, it'll show Home -> Floral print not Home -> Apparel. How do I tag product to secondary category while still have it appear in the main category?

Would you like to have the product in a category and its subcategory at the same time? Have you checked them both in product details?

When I click on the shirt, I want it appear in the Men T-shirt category as the primary and today I even saw the option to make a category primary. But even with that selected, the shirt still appears in the Meat Lover section when I click on product link.
