menus not working Rembrant

Hi, My product categories use to show up the top in a navigation bar horizontally as text. which is what the REmbrandt theme does. but then I changed the setting below and put 'main menu under the 'category' to see what the effect would be



and now, even though i changed it back, i.e. the category menu is set to 'select - my product menu shows up as below:


I havent changed anything else. It just wont go back to how it was.
please help im about to go live with this site

UPDATE : it must be some sort of bug ? I the screenshot below, I ticked the "category menu" option, saved it, refreshed the site page, then went back and unchecked it, and saved again, refreshed the site and it is now working properly with product categories up top navigation . weird !!
