14 years ago, I created a dropship store using ZenCart, that sold lingerie.
I'm not going to go into the reasons why that didn't work out too well, but suffice it to say that the domestic manufacturer turned out to be an importer of Chinese goods; and real-time inventory status was non-existent. I ended up refunding more money than I kept.
Another problem, with selling anyform of clothing to women, is excessive returns and exchanges.
This question is for those of you who sell articles of clothing to women.
What percentage of your sales end up in returns or exchanges?
Dropshipping from China makes this especially stressful and although I can accept some degree of loss; the fickle nature of women can lead to disastrous results.
I could be wrong.
Has it been an issue for you? Not individual, occasional stories, but share the recurring problems that you experience.
Are there things we could do upfront to minimize the recurrence of returns and exchanges?
In the case of lingerie/swimwear, can you have a no return/exchange policy for anything other than manufacturer defects?
Competition seems to force us to accept returns for any reason. Is that true?
