Word of advice friend. Stay away from hostgator. It is owned by EIG.

EIG is legendary for taking good hosting companies and destroying them, milking the customers , and leaving you in a bad spot.

Also, just wanted to mention, for speed tests, you need to test your website with top 3 speed tests, each is a little different, so the 3 each give useful info.

Testing the server response time of the hosting companies url does not give you insight into how your site will perform.

I know. I already mentioned that earlier ... it depends on what setup/plugins you have etc ... but it does effect your site loading speed a lot. It's no good putting the most optimised for speed site setup on a server that's slow as a snail ... :)

Yes ... the search for the best host continues ... LOL :) No rush ... I have several weeks of other things to do before I'm ready to change hosts.

The #1 time of the year to purchase hosting for a discount is Black Friday weekend. EVERY hosting company gives their best deals on that weekend that you can not find any other time of the year.

The middle plan at $5.99 with 6 sites, unlimited storage/traffic seems OK. I have 7 sites but site 7 is on a free host as a test site, and it can stay there until I upgrade in the future. But I'm still not finished shopping around at the moment. :)
