⚠️ New USA Import Charges for China/HK Products – How to Handle? Advice Needed!

Hi ,
I recently ran into a big issue with a customers from the USA.
Due to the new regulations, all products from China and Hong Kong are now subject to heavy import charges when entering the U.S. (duties, taxes, fees, etc.).
Which made it impossible for me to ship the product under the original terms.

Now I’m facing two problems:

  1. How should I handle this situation moving forward with U.S. customers? Should I stop selling certain products to the USA, or is there a better solution others are using?
  2. Is there a way to automatically apply a formula or add an extra charge only for U.S. customers at checkout, specifically to cover these new import fees? (Maybe with custom shipping rules or a plugin?)

I’d appreciate any advice, tips, or strategies that are working for you right now.

Thanks in advance!

I am facing the same problem. My website clearly indicated that we are not responsible for any import taxes or duties, so did Aliexpresss, but Aliexpress asked me to pay import tax for a UK shipment, if not they won't ship.

I'm hoping someone will help answer this soon.
